CONTEXT

The audio seat feature of ShareChat Live needed a new name due to the following

Audio is not part of daily lingo: The term “audio” may not resonate with all users and may not be commonly used in everyday language.

Seat feels hierarchical: The term “seat” implies a hierarchy, which may not be inclusive and could deter some users from participating. 

Resonates with power users: The term “seat” may appeal more to power users or those familiar with exclusive audio spaces, potentially excluding other users.

Not accessible to all users: The term “seat” may create a perception of exclusivity, discouraging some users from joining the conversation.

SOLUTION

Rename audio seat to mic

Familiarity: “Mic” is a term widely used in the context of voice communication, especially in digital platforms and applications. Its familiarity makes it easily recognizable to users.

Accessibility: The simplicity of the name makes it accessible to users
